Rewind to 2005, working out of the spare room in his house Michael began MDH Accounting with a few clients, a stack of ledgers and a computer. With a desire to continually question, review and examine alternatives to standard practices, Michael began what is now core to MDH Accounting - maximising our clients’ potential by always looking for the next goal and better way of doing things.

Honesty, fairness, perseverance and determination are just some of Michael’s values that cross all areas of the business including the way he relates to his staff, community involvement and delivering a high standard of business advice and management for his clients.

Born and raised in Tasmania, Michael has developed an interest in the local community and works to improve it socially and economically by creating opportunities for people; sponsorship of sporting groups, sponsorship of community activities and supporting youth interests.

Michael highly values community involvement for his business but also for himself, having been a member of multiple not-for-profit boards for the most part of his career. He believes that giving back to the community is integral to a healthy economy. Michael’s most recent board appointments are for JCP Youth and the Bible Society where he uses his accounting knowledge and expertise along with his values of generosity and contribution.
